Hitters Edge was highly recommended to me by my son's baseball coach. My son has such a passion for the sport, but was very inconsistent in his performance, which frustrated him and decreased his enthusiasm for the game. Evan was eager to improve himself, but not knowing the proper techniques I was unable to help him build his skills. Knowing my son had the passion and ability to improve, we decided to give Hitter's Edge a try. We've been hooked ever since.

Mike and Dan are phenomenal instructors. They are extremely knowledgeable and have taught Evan the fundamentals he has needed to improve his skills. Video analysis, flexible scheduling, a top-notch facility, and high expectations are just a few of the reasons why we continue to have our son train at Hitters Edge.

It's difficult to find coaches who are encouraging, compassionate, ambitious, patient, and devoted to the children they coach. You'll find two coaches like that at Hitters Edge.

Evan's passion for the game has grown tremendously since he started training at his Hitters Edge. His hitting, pitching, and fielding skills have grown even more! Mike and Dan's ability to communicate to my son, whether it be praise or constructive criticism, on a weekly basis is why we've seen so much progress in Evan's abilities. Mike and Dan have a true gift. I feel fortunate that my son is one of the many children who are able to receive that gift week after week.

For the past three winter months, my son Tyler has been training weekly with Mike Marks for hitting and Dan Baerlocher for pitching. The improvements have been remarkable.
Each step along the way, Mike and Dan provide a proper balance of:
    discussion– so my son knows what he needs to change and why;
    motivation– so he works hard at making the changes;
    encouragement– he is told when he is making progress; and
    praise– when it all comes together and good results are achieved.
If you’re looking for exceptional training to properly teach your son the proper hitting, pitching and fielding techniques, I strongly recommend you give Hitters Edge a call.
Thanks, Pat Horan

I would like to personally thank both of you for your compassion and determination to provide my son with the skills to excel in baseball. Before I took Matt to your training facility, I exhausted him and myself with several other trainers who lacked the professional element required to produce adequate ball players. Before Matt was introduced to the two of you, he was a mediocre player- granted he had some great games. However, he was inconsistent, a trait that was exceedingly difficult for him to accept. He strived to maintain physical fitness while being the best ball player he could be. But he fell short; something was missing.

However, with your "attention to detail", your training techniques, and your structured routines, Matt's skills have escalated to the next level of performance. I especially would like to applaud you for your unique video analysis feature that helped fine tune my son's techniques. Also, the equipment your facility offers during training helps to isolate a player's weaknesses, and therefore, provides specific skill development. Finally, the respect that you and Dan have for the parents and our kids is refreshing and amiable. It makes walking into Hitter's Edge after an hour car ride not just relaxing but pleasurable as well.

These reasons, among many others, is why Hitter's Edge achieves exceedingly sufficient growth amongst those who train there. Notwithstanding, the fact that I have not yet met one dissatisfied customer turn from your doors.

Essentially, Hitter's Edge has helped shape my son not just into a better ball player but a better person as well; one who is more confident and determined. And with that, I would like to disclose to you my utmost gratitude.

Sincerely, Mike Kaliszak

My  10 year old son has been working with Dan Baerlocher, the pitching instructor, for about 6 months.  I have been so impressed with Dan’s ability to not only teach baseball, but build a real relationship with the kids he mentors.  His knowledge and ability to explain the “whys and hows” at a level which my son understands is remarkable.  He offers great encouragment, motivatation and has a balance between praise and constructive critisim.  As my son continues to develop his form and technique, he is averaging an increase of 3-4 mph per month.  Thanks to Dan and Mike for providing such a great facility and positive leaning environment for kids.
Thanks, Mark Katz

I want to Thank Hitter's Edge for helping my son, Lance become a college baseball prospect. What an outstanding facility to teach baseball skills in a friendly environment. Thru the teachings of Mike Marks and Dan Baerlocher, my son has had over 20 college baseball recruiters contact him to play college baseball.
Thanks, Bruce Muehlberger

To whom it may concern,
I coached a competitive 13 & under travel team, we had the priviledge to have Dan Baerlocher be our pitching instructor/coach. Dan's knowledge of the game and expert instruction was invaluable to our organization. Not only did he have a tremendous grasp of the game but he also was an excellent teacher in terms of how he could relate to the kids and bring across his philosphy and work ethic. Our kids not only improved their mechanics they threw the ball with much more velocity. The improvement in the kids was amazing and immediate. The kids looked up to Dan and had a great admiration and respect for him as their skills and knowledge of how to pitch correctly and work ethic improved dramatically. I would highly recommend him for any position of instruction or coaching.Not only did the kids gain a greater knowledge and appreciation for the game they also gained a good friend, Dan has kept in contact with us and the kids, it means alot to the team to know he still cares about them and their developement. Mel Stottlemeyer Jr. the current pitching coach of the Arizona Diamondbacks and a friend of the family, has a son on our 10 & under team, felt that our kids were in good hands. Dan will be sorely missed by our club and we wish him only the best. Thank you  Dan, for making an impact on our kids. Good luck.

I strongly  recommend Hitters Edge to anyone looking for exceptional training for their child.  My son Cody, has been working with Dan for a few short weeks- and we've seen an immediate improvement in his pitching, not only has his form improved but his velocity has increased 7-8 mph.  What I'm most impressed with is that Dan teaches proper technique-to prevent injury-then it seems everything else come together-ie velocity.  Dan takes his time to explain the "why's", offers encouragement, motivation, and stays positive with the critiques.We look forward to continueing Cody's training with HE, not only in the Pitching but Hitting as well.

To whom it may concern,
Dan Baerlocher has been a member of the Kalamazoo Kings for two seasons. In this time, Dan has been nothing but professional and respectful to fans, staff, and his fellow teammates. The Kings have always had a strong relationship with their neighboring communities and Dan has always been an upstanding member of the community and a willing participant in charity work.

On the field Dan’s 15-4 record with a 3.00 ERA while being named to the All-Star Team speaks for itself.  Behind the scenes, Dan is the leader of the bullpen and the emotional epicenter of the entire team. What I believe would make Dan a great teacher was best demonstrated this summer. We had to let our pitching coach go at midseason, and Dan stepped up and took on many of the duties of a pitching coach by working with his fellow pitchers through whatever physical, mechanical, or mental issues they might have dealt with. Through his efforts, the pitching staff finished with the best team ERA in the Frontier League.

In conclusion, Dan would make a fantastic mentor and teacher for young men looking to develop on the mound and off it.
Sincerely,
Eric Volann
